It is reasonable to find that the number of houseplant parents is increasing daily! Only some have acres of land, or even if they do, they don’t have the opportunity to spend time there. If I am not mistaken, the trend and growth rate of houseplant purchases in America are increasing at 18-25% per year, which is incredible. After bringing the houseplant home, we have to keep some tools and equipment necessary to maintain and care the plants within reach. Tools can be beneficial in completing your work quickly and efficiently. I damaged the branch of a rubber plant while cutting it with a blade, and with great difficulty, I separated the branch from the tree at risk as the sharp blade had nothing to protect it. Whether you love to spend time with small or large plants indoors or outdoors, you’ll need tools to grow them correctly, care for them, and minimize your labour. This article will discuss some of the tools you need to care for your indoor plants and create a sustainable indoor garden. We will cover each tool’s uses, needs, and benefits and discuss purchasing a gardening tools set for your houseplants.
Although we cannot grow a garden in an ample space indoors, we can grow plants in the space or empty rooms of our house. I know a few houseplant experts whose houses make me feel like I’ve stepped into the jungle. But the amount of peace these trees and green leaves give gardeners is nowhere else. If you have a few cacti or succulents at home and are looking for tools to care for them, then the five-tool sets on our list will be the best for you.

The tools set can be used to maintain indoor plants, especially cactus and succulent-type small plants. With the shovel, you can fill the medium pot while repotting the plant; as a result, the medium pot can be filled quickly in the small pots without throwing it out of the tub. Use a spade (6.6 inches) and a shovel to pour the medium into small pots, and when the soil in the medium pot hardens, you can use it to care for the medium. The rake (with three heads) is mainly used to loosen the topsoil of the pot and remove the weeds quickly. The potting medium should be revved regularly to prevent the medium from hardening and to allow air to circulate. Pruning shears are another vital equipment for your little plants. You can cut thick-barked plants like pothos, money, spider, ZZ plant, and rubber plants with this knife. This knife should only be used for small plants in your house and not for extra thick foliage. But you can easily cut the thin and soft branches. You can get Succulent tools for $7.99, which is very affordable. Glass, plastic buckets, shovels, and spade rakes are black, and the black-wood colour combination is excellent.
Many have used these tools in bonsai (miniatures) and art projects, including seedlings. However, these tools are ideal for indoor gardening, especially for small and medium indoor plants. If you have more than 100 houseplants, I would not recommend you take this one. But yes, if you have small cacti succulents, and their quantity is minimal, then this toolset will help you a lot in pruning and trimming your plants within budget. The pruning shears are my favourite tool in the collection since they are little yet have a good edge and can help you become an expert pruner. As the cutting blade is made of stainless steel, you don’t have to worry about rusting and can use it for a long time. You can give these tools to your younger siblings next Christmas.
Before buying the tools, you should recheck the size as they are made for indoor plants. If you order without understanding the size, you will be disappointed. Many people have ordered by looking at big pictures and videos, and later, they got disappointed. I want this resolved, so I suggest you go to the purchase link to see each picture and understand the size.

The canvas tote comes with seven tools, although the bag holds 8. Not eight tools, but seven tools bagged with 8. Plus, I like this tool set. It comes with two pruning shears and a pruner, making you think other tools could have been added without a pair of scissors. But these two have separate functions. With pruners, you can easily trim small, medium, and thorny branches, but you cannot cut all types of branches with snip scissors. You can trim soft, thin branches and leaves. If I had this set, I would use the snip scissors for indoor plants and the pruner for brutal outdoor pruning.
The spades, shovels, and trowels have black steel, which I like, attached to the varnished wood. These three items have a small hole drilled in the wood to hang the tools on your garden furniture. As a result, you don’t have to worry about finding them in your gardening activities. There is a 6.25-inch high plastic water spray bottle that you can use to spray pesticides on indoor plants. The spray bottle is plastic, so you have to be careful. I had one that broke the spray nozzle after holding the spray bottle full of water. This small spray bottle is perfect for spraying water or pesticides on small plants’ leaves indoors. Finally, this set gives you a soft wire tie, a handy tool. Whether growing herbs on an indoor window or kitchen window or plants like tomatoes, peppers, and lady’s fingers, these are great for holding climbing plants that can be reused over long periods without damaging the stems. The tote bag has two sturdy handles that allow you to easily carry the toolset in the slot of the tote bag. They have chosen the colour of the bag very well. You can add and store more tools in separate slots in the bag. You can also clean the bag if it gets dirty.
All in all, it’s a great package with a spray bottle and tote bag for your indoor plants. You can use spades, rakes, trowels, and pruners in indoor container gardens and your backyard. But if this set can be combined with gloves or a poly hand weeder, apart from the small scissors, the package would be even better for indoor and outdoor use. Because without using snip scissors, you can prune all types of plants using pruners. But you will need scissors of different sizes to practice bonsai, and then you will realize the effectiveness of these small scissors. These eight backyard garden tools can make an excellent gift for any gardener’s birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, or Christmas. This package, in particular, is a complete tool package valuable to novice and expert indoor gardeners. If you have a pair of gloves at home, you can pick this up. If you are looking for tools without gloves, the toolset with ergonomic handles is also down to $21.
Interestingly, they have made another affordable package of this set without the soft wire tie. You can purchase this affordable package if you don’t need the wire.
What you get in the package
- Pruner (6.75 inches)
- Snip (6.75 inches)
- Rake (9.25 inches)
- Trowel (10.75 inches)
- Shovel (11 inches)
- Water Bottle (6.75 inches)
- Bag
Price: $13.03
The package is the same as the $20.90 (8 tools set), except you don’t get the soft wire tie, and it’s $7.87 less. This makes the package more affordable. Also, the spade, rake, and trowel are steel coloured, which you get in black in the pack of 8. The package contains six tools and a tote bag, which they claim as 7th tool. Oddly, they could have added a tool bag. They could have put it in the package or free, but the tool would have been 7 or 8. This isn’t much of an issue. You can get gloves or anything else you need. You can add tools and get the tools you need. Getting a set of 7 tools for your indoor plants for under $14 is very useful.

In the toolset, you will find a cute little brush that you can use to remove dust and dirt from the leaves, especially cactus and succulent plants, set in small pots. Cut and waterlogged leaves can cause leaf rot. They are usually sprayed with less water, so you may have to brush the dust off manually. A brush is included in the set to make this task easier for you. Another essential tool in this set is the tweezers. With tweezers, you can gently pull the burnt yellow or dead leaves from the succulent body while repotting. Also, small cacti can injure your hand, so that you can grab the cactus with tweezers during repotting. Tweezers can easily remove dead leaves and reach parts of the plant where your fingers can’t. You can use tweezers to create and care for terrariums. Tweezers have many other valuable uses in your gardening.
The package also comes with four plant labels to name your plants. When you start a seed indoors, these labels identify which pot you put the seed in. Also, small, sharp steel shears are provided, which you can trim soft, thin branches of, but it will be challenging to cut slightly thicker branches. They could have provided a good pair of scissors for this price so we could easily trim trees indoors and outdoors. But if you can overlook this, it will be a good toolset for you. Three crucial indoor gardening tools composed of premium stainless steel are included in the set. Smooth wood handles, polished stainless steel, and ergonomic designs characterize the making of spades, rakes, and trowels. This tool kit is an excellent package for beginners and professionals alike. Customers have surprisingly appreciated the 12-piece set of tools for its packaging. Their packaging is genuinely commendable. The tool set can be considered a gift for anyone in the household, from small children to women, for any occasion. The tools are made small, sturdy, and comfortable. This set includes all the tools you need to care for your hydrangea plants, which will help indoor gardening immensely. You will get a bag with the toolset, and you can keep the tools inside the bag on the plant shelf or near your reading table. You can also place the round box with their brand logo on your table, which will look quite different. If you have a large number of cactus succulents, you can take this tool kit with you. It is also an excellent tool set gift for your loved ones or friends on birthdays, Christmas Day, and Mother’s Day. The packaging of KIIZYS, the green-brown combination gift box, will impress you at first glance. You can also give durable and ideal gifts.

Tbltaca Brand 30 Tools $30 (29.99) will be a beneficial tool kit for indoor gardening care, maintenance, and pruning. As a bonus, you will get a colour print floral design with this kit set, making each item more attractive. Purple and white colour combination tools, but most of them are purple. If you don’t care about the colour and the price is affordable, you can quickly bring this kit home. Kudos to the Tbltaca brand for providing us with essential gardening tools at a low price and in a great package. It is good to note that 30 stainless steel tools are in the box, 18 plant tags in the box, and 12 other necessary tools (including the box). I think it would be great if they reduced the plant tags and added a few more tools. However, this tool set is still great. This Purple Box Tool Kit can be a great birthday gift for the little one in your house. The Tbltaca brand carefully crafts the tools to prevent blisters or bruises on the hands during use. To make the tools more sophisticated and attractive, they have printed floral prints of different sizes, which you will get as a bonus on the tools. This set of tools will help to make gardening more enjoyable and more accessible. Users are using the tools regularly and have expressed their opinion that they have been using them for a long time in their indoor and outdoor gardens and yards, and they hope to be able to use these tools by next spring. The set includes two types of spades: a rake, hedge shears, a pruner, a weeding knife, a spray bottle, a box with purple handles, digging claw gloves, and three back tools for succulents. You can get this kit with 12 tools and 18 reusable plant tags for $30, which is a great value. I have covered the tools you can use for houseplants and the kits within the budget. Some tool sets can also be used in outdoor containers and kitchen gardens (not all tools). I have given you the use of the tools and my opinion regarding these. Before you buy from the link, first of all, read the pictures, size, video, price, and finally, the reviews of each product carefully. Try, and then, if everything is fine, you can purchase the tool kits for your loved ones. As the tool sets are for houseplants, these are pretty small. Take note of the sizes from the product details and images. Although the products look a little big in the picture, each store has marked the size, and I hope you will get an idea by watching the photos and videos.
Care of Tool Kits
Put each tool of the set back in their box or bag after use to avoid losing items. The tools are made of stainless steel, so there is no fear of rust, but whenever we use the tools, we should keep them clean afterwards. I lightly wipe the tree branches with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide before pruning. As a result, the branches will not get infected with bacteria or fungi during cutting, and plant sap will not stick to the tools. Some tool sets come with ribbons or wooden handles that you can hang, so you can easily find the tools when needed. Do not leave tool sets for outdoor use in the sun after work. Once every 1 or 2 months, soak the tools set in water mixed with hydrogen peroxide for 5-10 minutes. After the specified time, remove the tools from the water, wipe them with paper towels, and store them in the box. Doing this will kill any mould or bacteria in the tool kit. Since the tools are mostly made of plastic, stainless steel, and wood, you don’t have to worry about rust. Keep the toolset, especially the spray bottles. Since these are plastic, they can break or cause problems with the spray nozzles. If used carefully, they can be kept intact for a long time.
